Buddy, The separation of church and state is not a lie, but it is being misused these days. The reason for that clause, is to prevent any religion from becoming the rulers of a nation, such as was the case in Spain, Italy, and France, at that time. It was not intended to stop people from being able to worship in their way, even in public. For atheists, and liberals to say that a Christian church can not, legally, have a Nativity scene on it's property during the Christmas season is not within the intent of that clause.
