Good idea, the only problem is that Arab States tend to want Sharia Law. Why should Israelis live in barbarism to accommodate stateless palestinians? In order for your Idea to work, you first have to guarantee the safety of the Israelis. So far no Palestinian has shown that kind of value system

Thanks! At least you're willing to discuss it. Most people here just tell my I'm looney.....

How about the proposal (keep the occuppied territories and nationalize the Pal refugees) is announced by Israel, if neigboring Arab country governments (and militias, whatever) and non-neighbor countries like Iran, Saudi, Iraq, etc. will agree to recognize Israel, cease hostilities, and act like normal neighbor countries. Israel would change its name from Israel (the Jewish homeland) to NewCountry (again, whatever, they could hold a lottery for new country names with the winner getting a BMW). And Israel would agree to "nationalize" the Palestinians over a VERY LONG period of time, say 30-50 years. The creme de la creme of Pal society (if they exist) will be given citizenship first. Any hostile acts from Pal society will (naturally) delay the citizenship granting process.

How does that sound? Nadine said that Barak let 150,000 Pal refugess into Israel as a good will gesture or something during the Camp David negotiations. I imagine (but really don't know) that those 150k are decent Israeli citizens, not bloodthirsty terrorists.

It essentially just reverses the "partition" of a multi-cultural region of Jews, Muslims and some Christians, which was never accepted by any of the countries that neighbor Israel, and puts in place the country that should have been created in 1947.

And the more the Pals get integrated into the society, the more they want to stop the remaining "refugees" from warring with Israel since the newcomers have a stake in NewCo. Your issue of Sharia law could be raised, managed, somehow enshrined in the constitution that secular laws take precedence, but it could be dealt with. Perhaps accepting that NewCo laws are the law of the land and Sharia is your own personal issue could be part of the oath to become a citizen. Who knows - it's a concern, but could be dealt with.

There - peace in the Middle East. I've solved it. What's the next problem????

"So far no Palestinian has shown that kind of value system"

Not so. Hamas maintained a cease fire for over a year. That has to be considered as a first step in the right direction When they won the election(which was the next step) the west rejected Hamas, cut off funds, and did as much as they could to force Palestine into chaos.
