Wow you went to Turkey!

I am such a wuss when it comes to the thought of world travel. Were you nervous being there? I mean I have no problem if I was going to Ireland, England and other English speaking countries.

But for whatever reason I get nervous thinking about going to a foreign land where I do not know the language. Mexico, Central or South America, or Spain might be alright since I know a little Spanish.

But Turkey would make me nervous. Especially since I look so American. I am so naive. And will prolly miss out on a lot of neat places to see just because I'm a fraidy cat that way.
Skoot's website there showed some spectacular scenery. However I can't imagine being off in the middle of nowhere like that on those dirt roads. I'd be forever lost. I admire those dudes. It must be a heck of an adventure.

As I continue reading more about Indian culture, the more I wish to visit out west and perhaps down below our borders and nto South America.

I was just reading in a book called Indian Givers about the Incas and Machu Picchu and how now it is thought to be a place where the Incas experimented with crops and developed so many different types of potatoes and other foods as try to figure out where would be the best places to grow certain foods. I'd live to visit there someday. Their ancient architectural mastery is amazing. It's a pretty good book explaining how the indian ways helped contribute to the industrial revolution, agriculture, forms of government, etc.

I'm not sure how I went from Istanbul to Machu Picchu. Perhaps someday my curiosity will lead me to a book about Turkey and its history. I know so little about that country.
