INI/world traveler,

A unique book on traveling the world is "Adventure Capitalist" by Jim Rogers. He and his fiancee (now wife) drove around the world for three years in a customized BMW, visiting 116 countries. I started to read it from an investing angle (Rogers has been wildly successful in his career), but quickly got caught up in the saga of the journey itself. Worth a read.

Wow you went to Turkey!

Yeah we did..
Actually we toured Constantinople.<wink>

Never imagined I'd visit that land but a close friend was going to formally celebrate his mirage to a native Turkish woman.

So we thought 'what the hell?'
Let's go visit Turkey.

I am such a wuss when it comes to the thought of world travel.
Were you nervous being there?

No we weren't nervous being there...
(FWIW, please be sure to never use the word 'wuss' on this thread again, you're dating us both <gg>.)

Actually we were more concerned as to whether we could return to the US if WW3 broke wide open while we were absent our great land presently run by a grated cheese leader....

At the entrance of the Blue Mosque I engaged a Kurdish Turk offering to tell my fortune if I picked up one of his rabbits...
He recognized my accent and disposition as American and swiftly proceeded to thank us and George Bush as a savoir to his tribe.
I told him flat out GB is an asshole and to be careful what you wish for...
Ria was furious with me & my comments/ advice to the young naieve Kurd...
He'll soon learn.

In general, the Turks were most accommodating and made us feel very welcome.
We bought a few Kurdish rugs and some pottery.

We were well aware we were flying into the 'eye of the storm' on a global perspective.

Make no mistake,
we're glad to be home 'fer sure.'

I'm having trouble posting the images we captured in TR to pbase.
I think I set the image size on our new SONY Cyber-Shot camera too large.
That in turn limits our ability to share quick photos.

PM me with you're email if you want to see more shots of Istanbul (NOT Constantinople.)

Whatever your fancy.

Makes no difference to me.

Sincerely,
