Hmmmm..... How much risk do you like? Do you know there were riots in Istanbul following the Danish Mohammed cartoons? Do you know 9 British citizens were killed in the last couple days in Antalya by the PKK? They used to target Turks. They seem to be shifting their targeting to tourists to disrupt the Turkish tourist trade. Admittedly the Turks in western Turkey were very nice, helpful and accommodating at that time. But that could be changing. I strongly recommend not going to Ankara or east of it. Agree about Cappodocia. Overrated and dangerous. Good chance of breaking something clambering around that mess. I'd say the Blue Mosque is overrated. Did you get to Troy? If not, why not? :-)
