Does anyone else believe that Putin may one day play a role in making peace? The Russians supported israels right to defend itself but blasted israel for blasing beirut. The Russians have been victims of terrorism in chechnya and dagastan. The Russians have gravitas in the arab lands. The Russians are not perceived as folks with an agenda like iran. Many Israelis have Russian heritage.
Turkey also may be able to play a constructive role as well.

These few public comments are IMO very encouraging. Wish Bush, or better yet, Blair, would seize the moment and try to get some momentum going.

Why is it that you don't hope any Muslim will attempt to solve this.
