HOLD IT! "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion" prohibits Congress (later extended to state legislature by USSC decision) from establishing a state-supported religion. THAT is "separation of church and state".

And if you must vote for Christians for public office, you've effectively established a religious test for public office which violates ANOTHER clause of the Constitution.
