Clinton did a masterful job with a peace plan and Arafat flat out TURNED DOWN PEACE! He chose for the Palestinians not to have peace with Israel. It is organizations like the PLO, Hamas and Hezbollah who refuse to recognize Israel. The Radical Islamic movement of today does not want a two state solution or any solution except as Iran's President has stated: To wipe Israel off the map. People like you continue to blame Israel for everything. Just like Hitler did with his softening up of the mentality of the German's by blaming their lot in life on the Jews. Ones lot in life is changeable. But how does one institute that change. By blowing up innocent civilians? By murder and intimidation? You don't see Israelis walking into Arab countries blowing themselves up as a practice. You don't see Israelis in the street burning flags and inciting hatred. You don't see Israelis destroying ancient religious places and continuing to suppress the rights of woman in the most brutal of terms. Until moderate Islamic voices stand up and begin to publicly condemn the actions of these extremist, the radical element will continue to bastardize the good work of the majority and give a much distorted connotation to Islam. The majority of Americans didn't have a clue who Al Qaeda or Islam or Jihad was all about until 911. There was no BUSH DOCTRINE that made them come after us. It had been building up for many years. In 1993, when the first attempt to blow up the World Trade Center failed, the movement was well underway. The U.S.S. Cole, embassies in South Africa, and many other attacks on U.S. interests were not dealt with. We allowed threats to gather and their capabilities to gain strength. We FINALLY WOKE UP. Sadat of Egypt was assassinated by radical elements of Islam because he tried to make peace with Israel. Now why is that? Why do good, honest Islamic leaders have to fear any attempt to make peace with Israel? The Egyptian Brotherhood and Al-Zawahiri that were behind his death. They do not want peace, but destruction of Israel.. PERIOD! Overblown, not at all, Pal. It is Terrorists, RADICAL FUNDAMENTAL TEACHINGS OF ISLAMIC EXTREMIST that is the problem ... NOT ISRAEL!!!!
