Kerry is extremely smart on national defense. More so than Gore who is more concerned about environmental and technology issues. Kerry has worked closely with McCain, Cleland and other vets in the senate to watch over our armed forces and veterans.

RMF, I strongly disagree with your opinion of Al Gore and John McCain. If Gore won election in 2000, we would almost certainly have experienced another horrific terrorist attack by now. He's more focused on natural disasters than those inflicted by fanatical humans. As for the once admirable John McCain, his desperate measures in an effort to become the GOPs next presidential candidate, have rendered him DOA with the national Republican base.
