Don't you think the whole point of that exercise is to give cover to those who voted in favor of authorizing the war?

They want to show an elaborate conspiracy to dupe, rather than
admitting either that they made a knowing decision or they were just too stupid not to realize that the data was faulty.

What a choice!

I think the electorate favors honesty. Why not just say, "I made a mistake", if one wants to retreat from the prior affirmative vote, or, "I made the correct choice" and then proceed to support it.

As a voter, I absolutely hate the "run for cover" mode.
