"Falling for the 'teach the controversy' nonsense of the ID crowd" doesn't mean that you actually believe in ID.

Also I'm not so sure that most libertarians or even more libertarian conservatives would actually fall for it.

Its quite reasonable to be FAR more tolerant of ID than of Holocaust denial.

LOL! Why?

1 - Holocaust denial is the fairly specific denial of an historical atrocity with million of witnesses and tons of documentation. ID is a general idea that can mean different things, some of which can not be shown to be wrong. ID is often a denial of evolution, but not always. ID can be bad science, pseudo science or religion, depending on what exact definition you provide it or ideas you take from it.

2 - The case against the idea that something other than random mutation and natural selection is the main source of the diversity of species, while quite strong, is not as strong as the case against the assertion that the Holocaust did not happen.

3 - Holocaust denial is generally considered offensive, not just inaccurate.

LOL! Why?

Because one is a fact and the other is a hypothesis. Tolerance stretches to cover varied hypotheses, not varied facts.
