I think it is primarily a political philosophy. Its the idea that the government should intrude on our liberty only to a minimal extent In the beginning... there were kings and gods and they were pretty much the same idea. It's an authoritarian notion. You can if the submission is voluntary. Voluntary submission? Is that like choosing to be a slave? Haven't we discussed that before? <g> It sounds like you're saying you could be libertarian (political philosophy) and voluntarily submit to a king or despot. Makes me itch to think about it.
