which is why I offered the thread of common reasoning I have found.

What you have does is applied a common label to the foundation of certain common tactics. The tactics may be common but the foundations are different. Business is against regulation because they want to make money and because they think they understand their businesses better than public officials, not because they are philosophically libertarian, for example. What they have in common is not libertarianism but minimal government interference in their businesses. The same business will concurrently be rent seeking in another arena, which is clearly not libertarian. They fly whatever flag works in any given instance. It's opportunistic, not principled.

I don't question your finding of commonalities. I'm just objecting to the libertarian umbrella label you've applied.
