"Which is to say they took political advantage of the 9/11 attacks. " Yes, they certainly did that, in the most cynical manner. But the PNAC document states that they DESIRED such an attack for the specific purpose of USING it for their political purposes. So, it logically follows that if they did have knowledge of such an attack, they might allow it to go forward. Pre-9/11, the types of attacks they could imagine were Oklahoma City, etc., with far less destruction. I have no evidence of this of course, only the PNAC document were people who later were in pivotal positions in the Bush admin. signed off on openly HOPING for a "New Pearl Harbor" to use to jerk the country into line with their radical ideology.
