Your hypothsis cannot be anything in reality. OPEC members do have power to control the oil price. They have 70% of total oil reserves around the world. They can control the production of crude in so many ways - good way or bad way. People can tout the amount of reserves they have. Who would actually believe in the myth of plenty of oil left ? Oil in reality will run out. The refining capacity of cruel oil may not meet the demand mainly from China & India. The appetite of oil from US is still going bigger and bigger. And more importantly, no one in US would want to see Iran & Venezuela to acquire nuclear arsenal using their oil money. Would you want to see that ??? I can envision Israel to attack Iran, & US to attack Venezuela starting next year. Canada will become the main foreign supplier of oil to US. OIL PRICE WILL GO TO $100. Very unfortunity, isn't it?
