If they make an ass of themselves is that a crime?
They create a distraction from the important question of why did the Cheney administration fail to pass on the warnings that Bin Laden was about to hijack planes.

Cheney would much rather divert such questions into easily disproved assertions which imply that Al Qaeda didn't even attack.

That's practicly the crime of coverup.

I didn't mean that Jones committed a crime. I said that it was a terrible thing that Jones was silenced if it had anything to do with government interference. I was only giving an example of when government interference might be appropriate. It was a side note and not directed at Jones.
