I hate that we are the world's police, but that's one responsibility that a superpower is stuck with.

And when that same superpower had a pivotal role in the UN which installed Israel in Palestine to begin with, you begin to see why this superpower is not loved by everyone. This goes to the root cause of the trouble in the middle east.

Far too much water has gone under the bridge for any true equity to be accomplished. But my feeling is that if we don't start walking towards an equitable solution then we're going to see more terror and more war. That was the premise to Bush's road map to peace, but it certainly has not put us closer to peace. The plan was not workable, and it seems that no one is able to discern why or to figure out how to fix it.

That mess is overlaid with other strategic interests in the middle east such as oil production.

The only road to peace that I can see is one that delivers equity to all parties in terms of control of their own destinies. One state solutions or two state solutions...what ever, but that decision should be made by the people of the region, not the UN.

That same road to peace would include the development of non fossil fuel energy systems, so that the constant pressure to control oil goes out of the equation.

If only we could all emulate the God which we are hell bent to kill for.
