This myth has effected generations of NY sports fans. Yankees fans have been forced to watch games in an inadequate ageing, maybe even dangerous structure for decades too long just because it was "the house that Ruth built". For far too long the elite of NYC have been forced to (literally) rub elbows with the hoi polloi in a bad neighborhood. Well finally the people of NY have out grown this infantile delusion and for a mere 150 billion tax dollars there will be million dollar sky boxes galore in the house Stienbrenner stole.
