The basic argument he made about the flagellar motor is that it was derived from the TTSS. Even if so, so what, is what I'd say - as the TTSS is also arguably irreducibly complex also - so the argument just shifts from one structure to another.

I also do see accidental and purposeful as contradictory. Not to mention accidental and Divine Intelligence.

If life originated accidentally (which I don't believe is even possible) as per orthodox Darwinism, then it doesn't have a purpose and can't have been produced by a Divine Intelligence. And vice versa.
