I'll have to look at the link later. The basic argument he made about the flagellar motor is that it was derived from the TTSS. Even if so, so what, is what I'd say - as the TTSS is also arguably irreducibly complex also - so the argument just shifts from one structure to another. I also do see accidental and purposeful as contradictory. Not to mention accidental and Divine Intelligence. If life originated accidentally (which I don't believe is even possible) as per orthodox Darwinism, then it doesn't have a purpose and can't have been produced by a Divine Intelligence. And vice versa.
