Hitler's Nazis also blamed foreigners and scared the German public that only they, the Nazis, could protect them. Then they militarized the whole country, gradually did away with civil liberties and elections and started invading countries that had not attacked them, until they went way too far and were crushed. I'm not making an exact comparison, but let's call the Bushies incompetent neo-Fascists. One thing's for sure, they are not conservatives and they are not concerned about defending the Constitution or allowing free and fair elections.
