A long these lines of printers.....I have a cheap Lexmark printer at my desk. It prints color, but I don't need it to. The replacement cartridge is called a Lexmark 1 cartridge and costs around $20. Is there a way to just get a black ink cartridge for this printer.

I've googled this request and can't seem to get an answer on the net..........

Thanks.

shadow,

Thanks for the links. I can't believe the low low prices for printers these days. Can they really be any good when sold so cheaply? But, we know the profits are in the cartridges. Most printer/scanners have similar specs on DPI. I wonder if they are all equal in picture scanning and printing quality -- if they keep all the dots where they are supposed to be?

I'll read those reviews at Amazon.
