All war is terrorism, pal. All war. On all sides. We just make it a little more polite by blowing up whole neighborhoods from a distance.

And if you hate Al Qaida so much why do you condone Bush allowing Osama Bin Laden to live free and protected. Just the other day Bush said he didn't care about Osama anymore. But he's the one who attacked us on 9-11. It was Osama, a friend of the Bush family. At least his family is.

And where is saddam when we need him to crack heads in Iraq? We'd actually be better off now with Saddam back. Sadly ironic but true because Bush has messed up so badly in Iraq and decimated our own military might.

Tim, I'd hate to be a captured soldier and have to explain the nuances of that to my captors.

I guess you'd start out with, "The U.S tortures SOME people, but we don't torture others. I'm not a TERRORIST you see and therefore you cannot torture ME. What, just because I was a pilot and bombed your village you CONSIDER me a terrorist? If I could just be allowed to set up a conference call with our Justice Department I can assure you that this whole thing could be cleared up!"

Yeah.....that oughta work...ROTF

If Bush declares "war" on terror, then terrorists are enemy combatants. You can't have it both ways. In fact, the "war on terror" is a misnomer. Bush unwisely invaded Iraq without a plan, and that had nothing to do with terrorists, at least nothing directly, though it created thousands of new terrorists, many who are really nationalists fighting to oust us from their country.

Afghanistan against the Taliban was a war and some of the enemy were terrorist types, irregular soldiers using whatever means at their disposal to kill. Car bombs and suicide bombers are weapons they use. We use bombs dropped from the air. Because we can. They don't have airplanes. Except ones they hijack. Bush didn't really commit to Afghanistan though and left the job half-finished. Now we're paying for that and Osama is now secure and protected.

Kerry was right, the real war on terrorism mostly involves alliances with other nations, good intel, excellent police work and Special Operations surgical strikes. Not wholesale invasions. That is a foolish way of trying to stamp out terrorism. It's self-defeating because you give them a big target and they are experts at disappearing into the crowds.
Therefore, Bush has the wrong plan for dealing with terrorists, and it shows. Just look at the terrible results.
