In fact, windows media player will do it. The resulting mp3 file has no DRM whatsoever. People can take those mp3s and distribute them over p2p networks to as many people as they want and microsoft doesn't do anything to stop them.<<

Microsoft hasn't produced P2P software to enable the sharing of mp3s over the Internet, but if they did, the record companies would sue them, as they sued Napster and the other companies who did write such software.
