"...regardless of church affiliation. So it is not true that the various Christian denominations all think and teach that all the others are unsaved. Just fyi."

Thanks for the information about your upbringing. It sounds like a good one (although it sounds kind of sheltered).

FYI, I didn't just step off the boat. I've had a great deal of exposure to Christian groups talking about other Christian groups and about the problems within their own groups. For some reason everyone seems to get amnesia when them dern muslims are about. I've heard comments and interpretations like the following ...

(The word 'harlet' in revelations is in reference to a corrupt church and the term 'mother of harlets' is in reference to the Catholic Church.) Disclaimer for CB ... this is not my opinion or view point, I'm recollecting a strongly held and oft repeated perspective I've heard coming from more than one Christian sect.

That one is usually whispered by the more fanatical elements of one sect or another but there are tons and tons of stuff like that all through and about religious groupings (not just Christian) where members make an attempt to clarify divisions and perform God's job of judgement for him.

There's a phrase that goes "don't talk out of church" which kind of means, lets not let all those outsiders know about some of these troubling view points and attitudes. That's what this conversation sort of feels like, with me being the presumed outsider.

If you've never heard of the 144K, its a prophetic reference to the very righteous souls who get taken up to heaven at a particularly icky time near the end of time ... if you have heard of it, you aren't being very forth right, tsk.
