..I've had a great deal of exposure to Christian groups talking about other Christian groups ..

Big deal. The bottom line is disagreements between this or that Christian denomination about who will be saved don't translate into religious war. The Christian world gave that up many centuries ago. And its time for Muslims to give it (the concept of jihad) up too.

When was the last time a Protestant shot a nun to death cause he didn't like something the Pope said? How many churches of other denominations are Christians burning today? 7 churches have been burned by Muslims since the Pope's speech.

I know it may be embarrassing for the majority of Muslims who aren't themselves murderous savages. I can sympathize with their situation. But it isn't Christians or Jews or Buddhists or Hindus or pagans who are responsible for that situation. The problem is caused by the significant portion of the world Muslim community which supports violence in support of their religion. Spreading negative innuendo about Christian sects doesn't change any of that.

If you've never heard of the 144K, its a prophetic reference to the very righteous souls who get taken up to heaven at a particularly icky time near the end of time ... if you have heard of it, you aren't being very forth right, tsk.

I've heard of it. It's something mentioned about the end times in Revelation. No one knows what it means and different people speculate about it. Rrankly it isn't relevant to anything going on today. Who cares what this or that sect believes about it? It isn't being used as justification for slaughtering anybody!

Re. my sheltered religious background - I grew up in a Baptist church - the real fire-breathing fundamentalists. Or at least that's how they are depicted.
