Jay, I will refrain from advising you about Hong Kong real estate, and if you want to lecture me on DC metro area real estate, go ahead, but you don't know what you're talking about.

Owning this house, getting the real estate tax deduction, interest rate deduction and the home office deduction, saves us more than $7k in income tax a year.

Our mortgage rate is less than 6%. If we tried something cute like a paper sale to a wholly owned corporation, the mortgage would come due, and the fictitious corporation would have to scramble for financing.
