Buddy, The more any entity knows about you, the more he knows which of your buttons to push, and when. Most, if not all, polls are gathered to get information that will tell them how you think. With that knowledge, they can bombard you with products, or services, that they have decided you must have. It's a little bit like pop up ads on internet sites. The instant anyone opens that ad, they can know things about you that they can use to sell you something you really do not want, or even have an avenue to hack into your computer.
