You can set it to classic mode visual style and that makes the click number go back to oldschool.

thats what I use myself. as well as the old visual style. XP style looks like disney barfed up a color scheme.

One bone headed thing Windows did with XP (I think) is change the click numbers. This TOTALLY throws me off. HATED that.
