Good morning, BensonInvestor, and thanks for your carefully thought-out DD on one stock, with I hope others to come. As you read more and get a little immersion in the "culture" of this board, you'll recognize that some valued posters (EC in particular) are Merry Pranksters. They don't mock or insult so much as yank chains and provoke. We've learned over time when EC is being serious. I expect nearly everyone in this fairly sophisticated crowd picked up on your point about CCH's copper, filtered EC's comments on CCH as being about its gold, and thought no less of your DD or likely the stock's prospects even before you got after him for his post.

As you read more here I think you'll realize the audience knows what they're doing, the posters know the audience knows, the audience knows the posters know, ... you get the idea. It's not a tightly wound group---there is a lot of jousting and playfulness and a lot of knowledge is assumed. If you get criticism for any recent posts, it's about tone, not content. Given the state of board knowledge and poster histories, people rarely take umbrage (or at least vent it very strongly) at someone else saying something considered (or admittedly) wrong about a favorite stock. They just nicely correct the fact, misperception, etc.

A guy who's as careful and detailed and analytical as you can sure add to this board. Best wishes.

Benson, you're still quite not getting it.

A Stockhouse board is like a campus bar that lets in underage kids -- it's all about being loud and boastful and fighting for a piece of turf.

An SI board is like a graduate seminar, free of juvenile posturing. You don't have to shout like you're in a bar full of drunken adolescents -- in fact you get a lot more credibility if you don't.

As long as you're polite and don't go on endlessly about one subject, and listen carefully yourself, you're going to get listened to and responded to -- some responses more useful than others! <vbg> -- plus you get the chance to learn more about investing in mining stocks than you could just about anywhere else.

Attacking the credibility of other posters is just about the worst thing you can do here. Transpose the board postings into face to face exchanges at a graduate seminar and you'll know what I mean.

And shouting "Me! Me! Me!" in people's faces is not the best way to gain credibility, in fact it is just about the best way to lost it.

Either you'll get what I'm writing about and become a productive member of this seminar, or you'll earn my second-ever ignore on SI.

I forgot to say that I have a suggestion for you -- start a board on Campbell here on SI. I for one will keep an eye on it if you do.

Here's a good example of a well-run board dedicated to one company -- Subject 53494.
