Which is not to say that baseball is not a total bust. Totally overpaid for it. Same for the NFL. The high programming fees for sports on the radio do not work for the satellite radio model.

XM had no choice in the matter. Sirius had just gotten NFL and without MLB XM would have had no sports credibility at all. XM would clearly have put off the MLB deal for a couple more years had that been an option. Both companies would have been far better off had Sirius not signed with the NFL, because Sirius has benefitted zilch from it (I know that because Stern said HE brought Sirius all their subscribers over the last two years).

Still, if you are going to pay too much for sports content on the radio, better for it to be MLB than NFL. While the NFL makes a great promotional partner, the reality is that MLB makes better content.

Could not agree more. So maybe you can understand why I find Mr. Rays posts so comical..

Like I have said before. I find it ironic that Mr. Ray continues to throw maltov cocktails at SIRIUS while his own house burns to the ground around him. LOL!

If you look at it from a Cost vs. Revenue (as reproted by SIRI) standpoint. Stern far outperforms MLB by a wide margin. Unless of course you still consider 40 million dollars as "insignificant".

And so it goes,
