No I've not read Beinhocker's book, and based on the ramblings I'm hearing elsewhere I don't think that I will at this point, which in no way is to suggest any level of merit, but that it simply doesn't appear to hit my need. A friend is currently reading End of Medicine. When he's done I'll tackle that one. I've not come across Fooled, yet. I'll give it a look. When you notice my absence for a day or two, you'll know what I'm up to. And ps - thanks for the reply. I was beginning to think that everyone was somehow locked out of this board with the exception of me and Tech101. I sometimes go into a paranoid state when I see that no one is responding to my posts, and I then go on to wonder if all of SI, if not the entire Internet, has been shut down and someone simply forgot to punch my ticket ;-)

Lhn5,

Elsewhere on SI I had cause to restate my newly-informed opinion about the book you asked me about in the uplinked message. You may recall my mentioning Eric Beinhocker's "The Origin of Wealth," and your subsequent question? See:
