Ichy,

When Castro dies a major change in policy might occur and governments and companies friendly with the dictatorship might be viewed very differently.

What if Canadian assets are seized and the resold to American companies? How will that play in Toronto?

Sherritt's 'investments' included the purchase of seized US assets - hence the law. Is it fair - probably not, but I suspect Canadians who relish in thumbing their noses at the US by supporting Cuba will be real unpopular there a few years hence.

Supporting Cuba is viewed by many here as being akin to supporting South Africa under white rule.
