Can you see this file using the Exploring Windows utility? If so, point to it and right click on it. There you will find some ways to make the file sharable, indexable, etc. Look at the Advanced properties as well. I can't remember exactly which of these makes the difference but I had the same problem and it was the way in which the security features on a particular file were defined.

I solved my folder "access denied" problem at the 7th try, using this procedure support.microsoft.com
Step 8. was not clear to me.
