Well, I kind of understand what you are trying to say...but I don't know that a black constituent in the USA would see a christian as a representative of a culture that had held them in slavery....(I could be wrong).

we can take a word here and there and make the hypothetical into anything we want..but I do understand your points on this whole issue and I hope you can see some of mine.

No, in the best of all possible worlds, she wouldn't have been afraid (if that's what it was) to express it, and her in-laws (also Allen's grandparents) wouldn't have been the bigots they were.
