What was the industrial base in the area and where did it go to and why? Is it like the rust belt in the US with jobs going to Mexico and then to China and beyond?

Is the US proposing new rules because of the 'WOT' or because the Republicans want to protect the profits of BigPharma and want to prevent daytrips to pharmacies?

Who is paying for migrant workers to be flown in? Will Canadians do the job for $15? $20? What happens if farmers have to pay those kinds of prices, will Canadians buy the produce?

Are Canadians willing to pay more for home-grown and are they willing to have protectionism as well? For pure nutritional value, it's much better to have locally grown produce. Would people be willing to eat less of more nutritionally dense, locally grown food for the same amount of money they were paying for too much nutrient-poor food?
