He's been amazing so far.

Perhaps the biggest problem for me is wondering what the "catch" is.

I mean, someone didn't want him around anymore.

Why?

Will he turn into Cujo upon the first full moon?

We have been taking him to the football field every night where he watches everything and waits to be petted by all the young siblings on the team.

He then spends a lot of time sleeping and relaxing in each room of the house.

He caught a bad case of kennel cough while penned up at the shelter. We trick him into eating the antibiotic they gave us and put drops in his ears for the infection.

Now two days on it he seems a lot happier and is showing his playful side. But still he is amazingly in control. We leave food on the table and it remains there.

We keep thinking that this is too good to be true.
(I am knocking on wood while I type this.)

When I get a chance I will post a pic.

Someone else today at the football field said that there must be some hound in him. He pointed out his front legs turn out and are quite muscular. Perhaps there is basset hound or bloodhound or something else in his bloodline. Maybe that accounts for all the sleep (in addition to being homesick or ill). Otherwise he looks like a Yellow Lab.

The only time he seems a bit hyper is when we are tossing that rubber hockey ball to him that I found in the garage.

He would make a great linebacker...
Sacked Kevin before he could complete the pass to Anthony.

Rose, it is amazing the amount of hurt inside us that he has erased just by being here.

Perhaps there is one near you looking to adapt a nice retired couple who like to walk the beaches and pick winners of football games.
