I watch The Dog Whisperer on the National Geographic channel.
I've learned more about dogs, and their training than ever before.
Most dog trainers don't know crap.

It's not just about "training" your dog, it's about making them happier too.

I mean, someone didn't want him around anymore.

could be as simple as - he grew too big.
who knows?

some people bring dogs into their homes and
lives for the wrong reasons, and once they
realize it, just get rid of them. most times
its got nothing to do with the dog.

dakota is just what your family needs and your
family is exactly what dakota needs.

a match made in heaven i'd say and all it
takes is love. you've got a lot of that.

post a picture of dakota with the kids.

Perhaps there is one near you

we'll look.

:)

p.s. good luck tomorrow. i'm going rock hunting
with the girls - we're looking for big rocks with
big holes in them filled with big crystals, but
i'll be back for the evening game.

Dogs are good for you. That's why many hospitals now use therapy dogs to visit patients. How can you dislike a beautiful golden that wants nothing but attention and love? Your stress just disappears in their presence.

Clapper,

<Perhaps the biggest problem for me is wondering what the "catch" is.>

There is no catch with Labs - they are totally dedicated to you, your kids, and to food.
