Hi baachus_ii; Interesting figures. But I have to disagree with the author's methodology: "R.J. Rummel has written a book called "Death by Government" in which he attempts to sum up the total number of (noncombatant) people killed worldwide by their own or a foreign government in the twentieth century."

Last I heard, combatants were people too. In the larger wars, most of the KIA are not exactly volunteers, except in the earlier periods, before the population figures out exactly what is going on at the front lines. And in a lot of the smaller wars, it gets difficult to distinguish the combatants from the noncombatants.
