"I just saw Bill Kristol on Fox News commenting that the President would have to wait until after the elections to send more troops into Iraq and Afghanistan."

That sounds believable --- (they don't want to change the rotations anymore then they already *have*, at least, not right before an election).

Not sure the Prez is really thinking about a SUBSTANTIVE increase though. (Likely only a few thousand either way....)

"Somebody tell me that the Commander in Chief is not making daily or weekly troop decisions based on upcoming elections in November."

Sorry. Can't tell you that....

"If he isn't (and I have to think Kristol is just spewing his political mumbo jumbo) then Kristol needs to be pounded by the conservatives."

Well, you've got to also recognize that Kristol is a died-in-the-wool 'neo-con'.

He's PUSHING for a big military increase in the region --- AS HE ALWAYS DOES.

(Whether it actually happens or not --- and the loss of the House might affect this --- is a different matter.)

Nice piece you posted from Buchanan earlier today, by the way. (About the most rational and persuasive I've heard him be in some time.)

SO? Bill Krystal always wants more troops.

and , if you remember, the Dems were all screaming that there were not enough troops there.
