It is much lower today than it was a number of years ago. Last time a family member was in emergency he passed out from blood loss before the doctors took much seriously, we threatened to sue, and invoked his POA so they were dealing with nasty relatives not a sweet older person. He survived but the hospital was grimy, uncared for and although they are planning to move in 2 years and close the site, they are still busily renovating, big expensive renovations. The person before that died from a misdiagnosis, she was treated for bladder warts for a couple of years before they found the eminently curable Uterine cancer. By the time they figured it out, she was dying. And presently one of my tenants is dying from Brain Cancer, they treated him for a couple of years for a pain in his hip, that has now metastacised into cancer in all of his major organs. Much of the problem seems to be that we are very short of doctors, and the doctors are limited in what they can do by salary caps. The fault lies at the feet of the Liberal Party of Canada and paul martin in particular. Personally I advocate a 10 year moratorium on salaries for politicians. I also believe that Politicians should not get a dime of pension until age 65.

gg, Knowing you you read my tome :O) A few weeks ago a relative of mine underwent a company sponsored health evaluation... as a benefit... use it or lose it.. so she took advantage.. A large masse was discovered via ultrasound.... An MRI was suggested after she saw her own physician for corroboration... The wait would be many months.... She paid for one in Oakville at a private clinic... 4-day wait... I guess the government schedule is ok if the growth is benign.... I wouldn't wait though... although some have no choice... .. Kinda reminds me of the Clint Eastwood line... Do you feel lucky ?.. Well do you ? Message 22795983 Now surgery is planned for next week... Without the private clinic she'd still be waiting while it grew... (big as a grapefruit now) She's already been told it must come out and won't really know the severity until it's out.. Guess it's better than waiting a few months and being told it's too late... if only we got in sooner... Al Godunov :O)
