I think itchy is too itchy to blame the american people when this current quagmire has far more to do with misguided and/or incompetent leadership from the top down.

I am sorry, blame is pointless. I don't blame the American people at all, I have looked at their responses, and I blame their leadership. The leadership of the US has never taken into account the basic unwillingness of the American People, and I am not sure that all people should not be included in this, to go to war, and fight to bring freedom to someone else. The American Government needs to learn that democracy is not something you can export. it doesn't work that way. Communism, Socialism, and Terrorism those you can export, to many countries, but democracy simply is not shippable. You have to want Democracy before you get it. It doesn't work in a country that cannot understand what it costs to be free.
