You know this, how? If you said "could have been bigger", I might agree with this. But you are stating that it "would still have been". Which implies some knowledge of the alternatives. I am interested in how you know.

Pork has been growing for a long time. Its bigger now than in the past but would still have been bigger if the Dems had controlled congress.

Speculation......its not admissable in court nor this thread. For the past 50 years, every time the president was a Dem. the federal deficit has slowed; when a GOP president is president, the deficit has exploded. I bet pork spending ebbed and flowed with the deficit.
