I think Q would rather lose the ITC case than make a concillatory settlement. Losing the ITC case would be bad but it would only be an IP issue. Meaning they would have to come up with a design around, purchase IP from another vendor or pay BRCM for it. Where if they give back too much too BRCM in a settlement than it opens pandora's box, with every other licensee coming back to Q for concessions.

I see a settlement only on Q's terms meaning BRCM has to feel their position is in jeopardy.
