Yes, the purists can play those games all day. Kentsfield and Clovertown will commonly be referred to as quad-core CPUs, not "quad core MCM package composed of two dual core dies". Smithfield was a single piece of silicon but that wasn't a dual-core CPU to the purists either. It was actually the "two cores manufactured together masquarading as single-core but actually two single core processors" Smithfield.
