For the debate to proceed to it's correct solution (i.e. a more correct understanding of the climate) it would be better if Mann, the National Science (Fiction) Foundation, the Royal Society et al remained aloof to the debate." Having the debate about politics rather than content serves only the members of the cult who believe they control the debate. It is similar to the football team with the lead trying to play keep away at the end of a game. Only this time it is about whether to accept a roughly 10% cost burden to the global economy for what may be no good reason.
