But if this is just about abuse of authority, then surely what President Clinton did was far worse, because 1) he actually acted on his urges (rather than just talking about them), and 2) felt no real remorse, unlike Foley, who immediately stepped down from his position in shame. So is it just because the left is homophobic?

Could be something to this.

There is considerable evidence on SI that AS is indeed a homophobe.

Good article, Peter. I have been asking some of those same questions today.... This man discusses the situation and make some sense...There are many many questions that need answers here....and not just with Foley. Although I have to admit that pedophilia is the one behavior/crime I simply abhore.
