Globstar's recent filings including assorted preliminary prospecti.
sec.gov

I haven't taken the time to read through them and I'm staying away from the IPO. I'm betting I'll be able to buy in later and cheaper or just watch history repeat itself from the sidelines.

!!!

It's De Ja Vous all over Again (Yogi Berra)

Isn't anyone worried about G* tanking the way it did before?

I watched it last time as it went straight up and then straight down, into the ground. I lost money as other people did. I like the concept. I worked on flight-1 before they subbed it out. I got to do an A-B comparison between Iridium & Globalstar. The G* phone worked very, very well. I am even considering buying a phone, ONE because it's "way cool" , I can talk to anyone in the world from anyplace in the world (well almost). TWO - because I want my phone to be a phone, not a do-everything-PDA-Computor-Gameboy-device. Three- I'm sentimental & have fond memories of working on the program.

But now reality needs to kick in. You have an aging fleet of 10 yr old birds, getting older and sicker each day. The fleet needs to be replaced. For the system to work right without voice delays, they need to be LEO's not GEO's. Where is the next $5 - $10 Billion going to come from to build and launch?
Revenue vs. Cost is what killed us last time.

My soapbox time is up now.
