Brumar, Surely you tracked those statistics to the source. They come out of NARTH, an association that considers homosexuality a condition which requires "reorientation" treatment. There are other studies that say that true pedophilia occurs with far greater frequency in heterosexual males. Eleutheria posted a couple yesterday on Center. Also the kind of study done by NARTH often is rigged by using older teen experiences, which are not really indicative of true pedophilia any more than consenting sex between a college kid and his high school sweetheart is. I'm not into rehashing all this again- since everyone pulls out whatever stuff reinforces the beliefs he is wed to, but it seems such a disservice to try to deflect this, to try to blame it on anyone or anything else, and forget that this is about an abuse of power, and a violation of trust, integrity, and ethical judgment on the part of an individual. I hope the RW will not try to do what Foley himself is doing- assuming some odd mantle of victimhood. There's an awful lot of "but they did it first" fingerpointing. Why does that matter? True moral conviction takes its own stand, regardless, and integrity demands that responsibility be taken-- especially when it involves the welfare of our children.
