Crude Oil Falls Below $58 on Unexpected U.S. Inventory Gain

Crude oil for November delivery fell 73 cents, or 1.2 percent, to $57.95 a barrel at 11:19 a.m. on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Prices touched $57.75, the lowest since Feb. 16. Futures have declined 26 percent from a record $78.40 a barrel on July 14 as tensions in the Middle East eased and fuel stockpiles increased.
