Harper's a leader on the world stage Published: Wednesday, October 04, 2006

And back at home he is the same redneck bible pounder he has always been. Always concerned with his Bigot Allies, never concerned with running the darned country.

Tories plan to protect same-sex opponents
If government loses bid to reopen debate, Defence of Religions Act is next option

OTTAWA — The Conservative government is planning measures, including a Defence of Religions Act, to allow public officials, such as Justices of the Peace, to refuse to perform same-sex marriages.

The measures are also intended to protect the free-speech rights of religious leaders and others who criticize homosexual behaviour or refuse to do business with gay-rights organizations, The Globe and Mail has learned.

Any legislation would be brought forward only if the government loses the motion this fall to reopen the debate on same-sex marriage. All indications are that the motion, which would authorize the government to introduce legislation to repeal the same-sex marriage law passed by Parliament last year, will be defeated by a combination of Opposition MPs supported by a few Conservatives.

A politician like Harper will ever do whatever is expedient/opportune to earn brownie points, especially from the Jewish community in Canada. To be sure, he knows full well where his bread is buttered on, eh?

If truth be known, Israeli casualties in the Lebanon War are miniscule compared to those sustained by the Lebanese and Hezbollah. Do not forget that it was the Israelis that went on a disproportionate killing rampage with a passion in clear violation of their own age-old Mosaic Law, "An eye for an eye." LOL!

Instead of a clear-cut resolution emphasizing Israeli casulaties, a harmless and neutral-sounding resolution was adopted. So, in the end, Harper didn't win at all. That made his so-called "victory" a hollow one, if not worthless. To be sure, Harper was seen by the European politicians as a busy-body and amateurish politician and as a veritable or compulsive political suckup!

Don't forget that the local papers are largely controlled by Jewish and pro-Israel interests. No wonder they gave him a pat on the back. To be sure, you deserve A+ as a Harper loyalist.
